Your First Visit to Our Boise Practice

Beginning Chiropractic Care

You will immediately feel at home the moment you walk in the door.

Our Boise office is conveniently located on Overland Road with plenty of parking near our entrance. Our facility is also handicap and wheelchair accessible for your convenience. Upon entering our clinic you will find our atmosphere a healing and welcoming one. You will find our practice comfortable, clean with a designated children’s area available to help entertain your little ones. Our capable Team is always friendly and will greet you by name with energy, a firm handshake and a bright smile.

Coming Prepared To Your Visit

You will need to complete our health history forms either prior to your first visit or you will be asked to come in fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment time to fill them out in our office. It is important that you complete this information in its entirety and accurately, the more information you are able to provide us the better we are able to service you. If you have access to any of your prior medical records pertaining to your condition ie. MRI’s or X-rays, we would ask you to bring them with you to your first appointment as it may reduce the cost and/or time of your visit. You will also be given a brief chiropractic pamphlet to review prior to being seen by the doctor and asked a few simple questions about the literature you have read. If anything you read or hear prior to seeing the doctor is unclear, be sure to ask the Team or Dr. Troy so that you can have them answered during your consultation. Most often the length of time you would need to allow for your first visit is 45 minutes.

Chiropractic Education

Dr. Troy will discuss with you any specific pain or symptoms you may be experiencing or discuss our wellness philosophy. It is our practice to perform a thorough evaluation to help identify the cause of your condition before your first adjustment. During the exam, the Doctor will examine your spine and nervous system through a number of diagnostic exercises and by utilizing state-of the art examination procedures. To assist the Doctor in the examination, a number of diagnostic tools may be used in order to best understand the health of your spine. Some of these tools include, but are not limited to X-Ray, Surface Electromyography (EMG), and Computerized Infrared Thermography.

To provide you with the very best care your first adjustment will be performed on your Second Visit. The doctor will need time to evaluate your findings and create a specific treatment plan for your spine and nervous system. In certain situations, and in the professional judgment of Dr. Troy, we sometimes make exceptions. It just depends on your unique situation.

Your first visit to our office it will be an educational and enlightening experience.

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Boise chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
