The Boise

Chiropractic Care Changed My Life

“I was 14 years old when I went to a Chiropractor with horrible neck pain due to wrestling and motorcycle racing. The doctor educated me not only about my pain but about the healing power within our bodies and our amazing nervous systems. Not only did my neck pain resolve but also my asthma drastically improved.”

“From the amazing results I had received through my own Chiropractic treatment I knew I wanted to be a chiropractor and help people the same way he helped me. I realized I wanted to become an educator on how to live a life of wellness and an abundance of health and vitality. I love my work and thank God everyday that I am able to witness the miracles and goals of our practice member’s.”

After graduating from Borah High School in 1988 Dr. Troy began his pre-chiropractic education at Boise State University where he graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree. After receiving his first degree he continued his schooling at The Palmer College of Chiropractic where he earned his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 1995. He has been affiliated with the Motion Palpation Institute from 1992-1995 and is currently a member of the International Chiropractic Association (ICA) and the Idaho Association of Chiropractic Physicians (IACP). He has completed additional educational trainings in Advanced Training in Whiplash and Injury Treatment taught by the Spine Research Institute of San Diego. He continues to increase his knowledge of state of the art adjusting techniques and protocols by attending various seminars and conferences at a minimum of six times a year.

My amazing family

I have an amazing family and two wonderful daughters who are 11 and 8 years old. There is nothing that I love more than to be spending quality time with them. We enjoy many outdoor activities in the Boise area but most often find ourselves riding bicycles, playing basketball, going for motorcycle rides, swimming, and/or spending time with family and friends. I have a few passions of my own that take me through each beautiful season Idaho has to offer. In the winter I really enjoy snowmobiling, late spring I love to go kayaking in Idaho’s amazing rivers, summer is filled with boating with friends and a beautiful fall day is so enjoyed by riding my motorcycle.

We live a natural lifestyle and my children have received the best chiropractic care since they were born. I strive to keep my body healthy through activities such as Pilates, running, mountain biking in the hills and walking. I live a balanced life through proper nutrition, exercise, positive mental attitude and most importantly maintaining the health of my spine and nervous system through Chiropractic care!

Dr. Michael Motel

Dr. Mike was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He graduated from Crestwood High School and began his pre-chiropractic degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder. He studied Integrative Physiology and received his Bachelors of Science degree. He then continued his education at Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa where he received his Doctor of Chiropractic degree in 2011.

Chiropractic Experience

Dr. Mike has had the opportunity to intern with several different chiropractors throughout his education. He has watched lives change through the power of chiropractic ranging from decreasing overall pain to allowing normal systemic function. Our body’s power is limitless and chiropractic helps to make sure that our bodies are able to function at their full potential.

Chiropractic Philosophy

Dr. Mike believes that everybody is born with Innate (inborn) Intelligence that is able to coordinate and defend the body from foreign entities, providing that the flow of energy is functioning at 100%. This flow of energy is received in every cell, organ, and tissue of the body through the nerves via the nervous system. When this flow is interrupted by a misalignment of one or more vertebra, this is called a subluxation. In order to remove this interference and allow the body to function at its full health potential, we must correct the subluxation.

Dr. Mike enjoys many outdoor activities that Idaho has to offer which include rock climbing the Black Cliffs and City of Rocks, skiing at Bogus Basin, hiking behind Camel’s Back Park, camping in McCall and Sun Valley, fishing, hunting, and playing with his border-collie named Pancake.

Dr. Troy Asks some important questions of interest to Boise residents - Chiropractor Boise Dr. Troy Asks...

How long does it take to form a bone spur?
Many who begin chiropractic care think their problem happened "last week when you bent over funny." But pictures of the spine tell a different story. Chiropractors know it can take your body years to deposit the calcium necessary to form a bone spur. It's your body's response to stress due to gravity or joint malfunction. And chiropractic care can help.
Are aches and pains good or bad?
While aches or pains may be unpleasant, they're merely warning signs. As a Boise chiropractor, I see this all the time. The pain is not the problem! It just means a limitation has been reached and something needs to change. That's when we get to work correcting the underlying cause.
